I know it may be a long time before we see until dawn 2, but how cool would it be! What are your thoughts on this, do you think that they could do a sequel and if they do, what do you want to happen?

Personally, I don't think a sequel would be a bad idea. While the Wendigos are all killed by the end of the game (excluding Josh if he survived) it does not get rid of the curse from the area. That ethereal face and screech within the flames as the lodge burns at the end of the game shows that the Wendigo blight is not over. So really, all it takes is a pair/group of lost hikers or trapped investigators/media people to resort to cannibalising each other to bring the Wendigos back. The police could easily cover up the Wendigo story with alibis like wild animals and/or psychopathic killers, meaning that the Wendigos would still be a surprise to any new protagonists in the sequel. You could still maintain suspense even if the main antagonists are still Wendigos... you could have other dangers like wildlife (bears and wolves which we see signs about but never actually see...), more QTE's with the terrain (like dodging falling rocks or trees, avoiding being swept down river or something)... and reveal that the Wendigos are back later in the game.
I'd actually like to see the original guys return and settle the curse once and for all, especially if Josh became a Wendigo at the end. It may as well not be called UNTIL DAWN 2 if they get a complete fresh cast and setting, unless they really interconnnected the two games. No one liked Grease 2 how they replaced almost the entire cast with crappy characters, so I don't see why people would want a new cast in a potential UD2, it just wouldn't feel like it was paying proper homage to the original game. It wouldn't feel like an Until Dawn game at all if it completely deviated from its roots (protagonists/antagonists, setting, themes etc); it may as well be another standalone game in that case.
I know that UD has hundreds of possible endings which makes continuity a huge problem for making a chronologically accurate sequel. BUT there is a game series that presents a solution to this - Dragon Age. You have the option to transfer save files from previous DA games so that they influence several events and available characters in the current one. If the UD developers utilised a similar system to allow save files to transfer to the new game, you can easily bypass the continuity issue altogether a have a new story influenced by your choices in the first one, creating an even more diverse gameplay experience. If they really took the time to properly explore and write the different alternative plot lines, and gave the original characters more depth and complexity, it could potentially be great. If a sequel is made, I think the fans would appreciate delayed but quality results from a full-hearted effort much more than a quick, half-assed attempt with inconsistencies, completely unrelated storylines and random characters who just don't measure up to the originals.
It'd be nice to get some real closure about the Wendigo curse, and learn more about the protagonists and how they coped afterwards. Maybe with a couple of new faces to add to the dynamics of the group (and compensate for any characters lost in the first game), a sequel would be alright, as long as they made the storyline distinct from the first... and not quite as cliche wouldn't hurt either. Maybe some more reference to Native American culture, or perhaps including a Native American descended from those who used to live in the Blackpine area who can help lift the curse, would be a fascinating aspect to add too.
I think that they should totally make an until dawn 2 game with the original characters and the second one should be about learning about the curse and how to stop it and to find a way to cure josh Washington.
Or the main character is josh and all of his friends come back to try and cure him but you still play as josh a lot cause he's the best character ever and you didn't get to play him at all and I hated that and he totally didn't deserve the fate that they gave him, it was fucked.
They should definitely bring back josh and cure him no matter what Either of those would be the best thing ever ???????
Here I have found some similar games like "Until Dawn"
Please Check it out.
Ooh, I've heard Life is Strange is meant to be pretty good. Will have to keep that in mind ?
I have an interesting concept. We have a brief introduction of the fate of each character from UD. This way you can import stats. I would like effort put into UD2, unlike Hidden Agenda. After this brief cut scene of the main cast's fate, we're introduced to a new cast. All of these people know each other, but they're not necessarily like the UD cast. This would be my cast with added information like brief descriptions and relationships:
F = Friend DL = Doesn't Like. This key is for specific characters, meaning if someone is someone's F, that isn't vice versa. It's THEIR friend.
Jacob - Brave, Heroic, Organised.
F - Andy
DL - Hillary
Amanda - Honest, Trustworthy, Diligent
F - Simon
DL - Jasmine
Jasmine - Greedy, Intelligent, Prepared
F - Jacob
DL - Amanda
Harry - Judging, Arrogant, Persuasive
F - Jasmine
DL - Jacob
Simon - Egotistical, Opinionated, Respectful
F - Amanda
DL - Harry
Hillary - Cautious, Timid, Caring
F - Amanda
DL - Simon
Andy - Sarcastic, Humorous, Lazy
F - Harry
DL - Hillary
Actual relationships:
Jacob:
Amanda (37%)
Jasmine (50%)
Harry (50%)
Simon (32%)
Hillary (12%)
Andy (100%)
Amanda:
Jacob (48%)
Jasmine (10%)
Harry (46%)
Simon (93%)
Hillary (52%)
Andy (12%)
And more...just an overview of what characters should be like.
The story starts 2 years later, just as the main cast has moved on, the police call the investigation off. Some young adults (new cast) have gone to the mountain to find out for themselves. Little did they know that the spirit of the Wendigo is around. Soon afterwards they hear strange noises. It's not the Wendigo. It's human. They find demented screams coming from the woods. A dead body is there.
(Depending on your imported stats, whoever died in Chapter 10, or in the lodge, their body will be found, either burned up, headless or with a bullet wound. If nobody died, Flamethrower Guy's remains will be found)
In my play through, only Mike died, so I'll use him as a placeholder. No matter who dies, Amanda will recognise the body. She informs the group about the 'accident' which happened on the mountain. They see Mike's body, and notice something. He had wounds around his neck and a bruised back. The burns had minimised.
(In my play through, the Wendigo killed him by catching him break the light bulb. If that happens, that's how he dies. Again, just a placeholder. It'll change based on your import).
Amanda gets curious but Hillary warns her. Andy pushes Hillary on to the dead body.
On further inspection, Hillary discovers who he was. She remembers police interviews surfing the internet of a girl called Sam. It was Mike who died.
Blah blah blah, more conversation between the group.
They then start moving. This bit is cool because you decide which group you split with and who you play as.
They split up to find more clues.
Group 1: Jasmine, Jacob, Hillary, Harry
Group 2: Amanda, Andy, Simon
This will allow you to find different clues. You'll find the same ones on either path based on your decision to keep it fair.
Then, instead of Dr. Hill, you will see key events from your original UD file in each character's eye. Then the characters will ask you and pressurise you as to why you did it.
They then continue to say why you want to do it to them.
There's more than Wendigos it seems...
When the original UD cast decide to come back on the day the lodge burned down they find traces of trespassers. They want to keep people safe by guarding Mt. Washington.
You then make your story. This is just the base idea of a UD sequel which will get me hooked in!
Omg thats awesome I had some same sort of idea with an new cast But still that your original cast is involved in any kind of way, I wrote Some things on a paper but your idea is already more Um How do you say that in details! and there are So much things going on in My mind and So many possible story lines and there has to come a sequel of until dawn
@Mathijsyo
Lol, thanks.
hey i’m mathijs again, i still love ur idea and either am i looking for some potential plots because if i look at myself as a UD fan i would love to see in whatever way the original cast of the game. and that’s what i like about ur idea because it has a connection with the other cast members but it would be cool to have josh back as a wendigo if he survives or if not he is going to be found dead or something and maybe there could always be a twist like that mike or sam in a mysterious way survived the night and live the past 2 years at those mountains. or maybe could the new cast have a connection with one castmember of the ‘original’ cast and they want to investigate these places where their “friends/family/person they know” got lost and died to get rest in their minds idk it’s so hard to have a really good plot for it and if they would use the original cast it’s going to take a lot of work because in everyones game it ends different but i still see them do that. and i can’t imagine that they won’t ever make an sequel. i would be so sad to be honest. i’m by the way mathijs from holland and a really really big fan of survivor
