If Emily had chosen to, or was forced to, Turn Back in the previous chapter:

Stranger: Urgh...

Emily: ARGH! No!

Emily falls to the ground in fear of the Stranger. The Stranger approaches while Emily crawls back.

Stranger: Sh sh sh sh sh sh...

Chapter 8, Animus/Revelation, and three hours until dawn.

Emily: No stay away!

Stranger: SHHHH! QUIET!

The Stranger hears the monster behind him and looks back.

Emily: Get back!

The Stranger gets Emily to her feet.

Emily: ARGH! NO NO...

The Stranger kicks the wooden doors behind Emily open and pushes her down.

Emily: ARGH!!!!!

The Stranger throws her his bag of flares.

Stranger: Use these!

Emily is shown falling down a wooden slope. The Stranger activates his flamethrower against the Wendigo.

If Emily had chosen to Hide in the previous chapter:

Chapter 8, Animus/Revelation, and three hours until dawn.

The Stranger approaches Emily behind the wood frame where she had chosen to hide. He grabs her hand.

Stranger: Urgh!

Emily: ARGH!!!

Stranger: Shhh! Quiet!

Emily: NO STAY AWAY!

The Stranger spots the monster figure behind him and lets go of Emily, taking the flares off his shoulder. He throws it to Emily.

Stranger: Use these! And get the hell out of here... now!

Emily crawls backwards and falls down a ledge.

Stranger: ARGH!

Emily lands on her back on the ground. The flare bag lands on her stomach and bounces off.

Emily: Woah! WHAT?! Oh shit... oh shit.... oh boy!

Emily gets up on her feet.

Emily; Mines; 04:01

If Emily had chosen to, or forced to, Turn Back in the previous chapter:

Emily lands hard on her back on the ground.

Emily: URGH!

The flare bag lands on her stomach and she catches it.

Emily: Woah! What?! Oh shit! Oh shit...

Emily gets up on her feet.

Emily: oh boy! Shit!

If the player did not choose to light the oil with the torch in Chapter 7:

Emily picks up her torch.

Emily: Alright... alright Em let's go...

Emily picks up the flare bag and looks inside it.

Emily: Alright.

Emily puts the flare bag over her shoulder.

If the player chose to light the oil with the torch:

Emily lights one of the flares.

Emily: Yeah! Oh my God! Alright Em... alright let's go.

Emily puts the flare bag over her shoulder.

After walking around in the mines for a little while, Emily enters a gap between rocks.

Emily: Ok... ok this is gonna be the way.

Shimmying in the gap, a monstrous hand bursts through the boards and attempts to grab Emily, but misses.

Emily: Shit! Shit!

Emily bursts off into a sprint.

If Emily misses the QTE to avoid the hand between the wood boards:

The hand scratches Emily's right arm.

Emily: Argh! What is that?!

Emily approaches a bridge with a gap.

If Emily misses the first QTE to jump over the gap:

Emily falls on her knees when reaching the other side.

Emily: NO! DAMMIT!

If Emily successfully hits the first QTE but misses the second:

Emily drops her flare into the abyss below.

Emily runs further with the monster, fully revealed, right behind. Emily reaches a fork with a sign for the elevator pointing to the left.

If Emily chooses to Go Right:

The Wendigo jumpscares Emily in the right path, so she runs to the left.

If Emily chooses to Go Left:

Emily runs to the left without harm.

Emily reaches the elevator.

If Emily is too slow pulling the lever:

The Wendigo reaches Emily and grabs her by the head, then gouges her eyes out. END

Emily pulls the lever with a groan. The elevator goes up.

Emily: Come on! Breath out... breath in...

If Emily was scratched by the Wendigo's hand:

Emily: Oh god this better not be fucking infected... oh god.

If otherwise:

Emily: Oh god... oh god!

Emily: Okay, okay... snap out of it, Em.

The elevator comes to a stop.

Emily: Shit!

If Emily had chosen to go right or missed a QTE earlier:

The elevator shakes. Emily notices the Wendigo outside the elevator behind her and stays still.

If Emily fails the Don't move segment:

The Wendigo arm bursts through the elevator suddenly but misses Emily.

If Emily successfully completes the Don't Move:

Emily sighs.

Emily runs out the elevator and tosses her torch or her flare.

Emily: Ok...

If Emily hits the first QTE:

Emily pulls the chain and releases and big bunch of rocks falling in front of the Wendigo.

If Emily hits the second QTE:

Emily tips a barrel over behind her.

If Emily fails to hit the first and second QTE:

The Wendigo reaches Emily and grabs her by the head, then gouges her eyes out, while she screams. END

If Emily hits the third QTE:

Emily tips a barrel over behind her, but leaks out oil. Emily lights a flare and throws it on the oil, creating a small fire.

Emily jumps down and reaches a conveyor. She pulls a lever, activating the belt. She crawls up the belt.

Emily: Oh come on...

If the player chooses to Stay On:

Emily stays on the conveyor belt leading to an ore grinder.

If Emily misses the first QTE to jump over the grinder:

Emily does not jump far enough and hangs on to the edge of the grinder. Emily screams when she loses grip.

If Emily misses the second QTE:

Emily falls into the grinder, screaming. Her legs and lower abdomen are crushed, killing her. END

If Emily hits the second QTE:

Emily keeps grip and climbs back up.

If the player chooses to Leap Off:

Emily jumps off to another inactive conveyor. Emily reaches the end, looks around, and runs.

Emily runs into a wooden building and looks back.

If Emily has her flare gun:

Emily takes the flare gun out of her pocket.

If Emily misses the QTE to shoot the Wendigo:

Emily attempts to run away but the Wendigo reaches her and bites her right shoulder. She falls to the ground below. Emily stands up slowly and moves her right arm around. The Wendigo screeches behind her and she looks behind.

(If Emily successfully shoots the Wendigo:)

Emily closes and locks a door.  She walks forward before the Wendigo crashes through the door.

If Emily fails a single QTE (out of three):

Emily falls to the ground below.

If Emily hits all three QTE's:

Emily screams while ziplining on a powerline. The apparatus breaks on impact at the end of the powerline and she falls to the ground below.

Emily stands up as a Wendigo screeches behind her. She looks behind.

If Emily does not have her flare gun:

She runs through a door and closes the door.

Emily: Ah! Oh please... oh please oh please please please!

If Emily fails to lock the door in time:

The Wendigo breaks through the door, biting her. The Wendigo tries to grab her but she falls to the ground instead.

If Emily locks the door in time:

The Wendigo breaks through the door and bites her.

(If Emily fails a single QTE (out of three):)

Emily falls to the ground below.

(If Emily hits all three QTE's:)

Emily screams while ziplining on a powerline. The apparatus breaks on impact at the end of the powerline and she falls to the ground below.

A flock of crows fly out from the trees in the forest.

If Emily is alive:

Emily frantically runs, reaching the lodge.

While Mike is watching Josh in the shed, Emily screams in the distance.

Mike: Oh crap, what now...?

Mike begins to walk out of the shed.

Back at the lodge, Emily frantically knocks the front door.

Emily: Let me in! Let me IN!!!

Ashley: Is that--?

Sam: It's Em!!

Chris: Let her in! Quick!!

Chris, Ashley, and Sam run to the front door. Chris opens the door and Emily falls inside.

Emily: Shut the door! Oh my God-- shut the door!!!

Ashley and Sam drag Emily inside and help her up. The four make their way to the Great Room.

Chris: Em, are you alright?

Emily: I didn't think that I'd make it --

Chris: You were screaming bloody murder.

Sam: Are you okay?

Ashley: You look totally wiped--

Emily: There was something--

Ashley: Where's Matt--

Sam: Come sit down-- sit down--

Emily: Something's out there--

(If Emily had died in the chase:)

In the shed, while watching Josh, Mike hears Emily's scream.

Mike: Oh crap, what now?!

Mike runs off, but trips on the way, but reaches the lodge.

Sam: Are you serious?!

Mike arrives and comes to a stop next to Chris.

Mike: Woah! You alright?

(Note that the following occurs regardless with the absence of Emily, but is placed before the heading, as Chris is not playable as of yet if Emily had died.)

A bang is heard from the back door of the lodge.

Chris: Woah.

Mike: Who the fuck can that be?

Ashley: Josh?

Chris: Jess?

Mike: It's not Jess.

Chris: Sorry man... but who is it?

Mike: I don't know... We should check it out.

Chris: I got your back.

Mike: Good.

Mike and Chris make their way to the back door.

Chris; Washington Lodge; 04:23

If Emily is alive (continued):

Ashley: Did you guys split up?

Emily: A monster-- It's a monster--!

Chris: Wait!

If Chris chooses to be Confused: Wait. A monster?

Chris: What are you talking about?

Emily: I said, there is something out there--!

Ash: Like what?

Sam: Ash, relax... it was Josh, it was all Josh-

Emily: No, no no no listen to me-

Sam: We got him tied up, he can't hurt you.

Emily: No it was after me. And it wasn't human--

Chris: Hold on...

If Chris chooses to be Concerned: Are you okay?

Chris: Are you okay?

Emily: I'm fine, I don't feel anything, I just need to calm down. It was moving so damn fast--

Chris: What?

Emily: I just had to get away--

Sam: Away from what?

Emily: Th-there was this thing, whatever it was--!

Sam: Em, Em, you can relax... Josh was messing with us... but we-

Emily: You're not listening to me.

(If Chris chooses to be Confused: What happened?)

Chris: Em, can you tell us exactly what happened?

(If Matt survived the deer encounter)

Emily: I am trying to tell you. We were climbing up the tower and it fell. The whole tower just fell! Right into the mines--

(If Matt did not survive the deer encounter)

Emily: I-- I tried the tower, and I was getting through to these rescue guys and it fell. The whole tower just fell! Right into the mines--

Chris: Whoa whoa whoa, what mines?

Emily: There are these mine shafts all over, running under everything, when the tower fell we ended up down there.

Ashley: I don't understand, the tower fell?

Sam: How did it fall?

(If Chris chooses to be Concerned: Where is Matt?)

Chris: Wait Em - where's Matt? Is he okay?

(If Matt had jumped off to safety:)

Emily: I don't want to talk about that fucking sack of shit.

Chris: Wow...

Emily: He left me! He just fucking abandoned me when I was hanging off the goddamned tower about to die-

Sam: What tower?!

Emily: And then I fell into this terrifying freaking mine shaft and he was just GONE!

Chris: Whoa whoa whoa, what mine shaft?

(If Matt had tried to save her:)

Emily: Matt- oh God. We couldn't use the cable car so we climbed the tower and then it fell and we were down in the mine, like way down, down in this terrifying freaking mine shaft...

Chris: Hold on, hold on-

Emily: And then, it was Matt and me down there and...

Emily: Oh God I think that Matt might be dead.

Chris: Wait, what?

Sam: How?

(If Matt fell off the cliff:)

Emily: Oh God, Matt...

Sam: Emily, what happened to Matt?

Emily: He's... he's dead. He fell.

Ashley: No!

Emily: He fell so far.

Sam: Jesus Christ...

If Emily found Beth's head:

Emily: I-- I was walking down there, in the mines, and it was dark and I found this pile and there was Beth's head!

Chris: Wait, what?!

Emily: Beth's head. I found it.

Ashley: Oh my God!

Chris: What the fuck?

Sam: Are you serious?!

Emily: YES I'm serious!

If Emily had found enough clues in the mines:

Emily: I think they fell down there.

Chris: Jesus Christ.

Emily: But the worst part is I don't think Hannah died, like, from the fall, not right away...

Ashley: What? What do you mean?!

Emily: I don't know... I feel like she was down there... like, starving to death... for weeks... when we were all up here looking for her... we had no idea!

Chris: Jesus, that's horrible...

If Emily had not found Beth's head and many clues but Matt found Beth's phone in Chapter 5:

Emily: There's something else. I found... some things... but not enough to piece it all together-

Sam: What did you find?

Emily: Well Matt and I we... we found Beth's phone.

Chris: That... that could mean anything.

Ashley: Yeah I mean, maybe it fell down there some time when she was out on the mountain or-

Emily: No... I found this little like, it was almost like a camp...

Emily: I think they fell down there.

Chris: Jesus Christ.

Emily: Listen. In... In the tower there was a radio and I - I got through to someone - but that was right when the tower collapsed!

Mike enters the Great Room and sees the group and Emily.

Mike: Em! You made it!

Emily: Oh, god, Mike-

Chris: Yeah, yeah, barely!

Mike: What about Matt?

Ashley: We're trying to figure that out...

Chris: And there was this "monster" that was chasing her...

Mike: She's all messed up, guys Emily? Hey, Em?

(Note that the following occurs regardless with Emily, but is placed after before the heading, as Chris has been playable if Emily is alive.)

A bang is heard from the back door of the lodge.

Chris: Woah.

Mike: Who the fuck can that be?

Ashley: Josh?

Chris: Jess?

Mike: It's not Jess.

Chris: Sorry man... but who is it?

Mike: I don't know... We should check it out.

Chris: I got your back.

Mike: Good.

Mike and Chris make their way to the back door. Mike points the gun at the door in precaution.

(If Chris chooses to Demand: Give me the pistol.)

Chris: Uh... let me have the pistol. 'Cos you can take whoever it is through sheer good looks. And muscle and all that... Just, I should have the pistol!

(If Chris had not hit Josh in the shed:)

Mike: Well. When you put it that way. Alright, here.

Mike hands Chris the pistol.

Mike: Don't shoot yourself in the foot.

Chris: Funny. You should get your own show.

Mike: Huh.

Mike starts to open the door, but the Stranger kicks it open, knocking him down.

Mike: Ahh! Shit! Chris, shoot him, man!!

Chris: H-Hey! Freeze!

The player is then given a QTE to shoot Chris.

(If the player fails the QTE:)

The Stranger yanks the gun off Chris.

Chris: Yikes! Ahh!

(If the player executes the QTE:)

The Stranger takes the gun off of Chris and throws it on the ground.

Chris: Yikes! Ahh!

If Chris had hit Josh in the shed:

Mike: Sorry Charley. No pistol for you. Not after what went down in the shed.

Chris: Come on, man, I was trying to protect you-

Mike: Well, now I got you covered, so don't worry.

Chris: Okay. I'm gonna open the door. You ready?

Chris starts to open the door, but the Stranger kicks it open, knocking him over.

Chris: Shit!

Mike: Ah! Ho-hold on there! Hold on there, mister.

Stranger takes the gun off Mike.

Mike: Freeze- Aah! What the-- Alright, alright, just take it easy grandpa--

(If Chris chooses to Suggest: I'll cover the door.)

Chris: Okay. I'm gonna open the door. You ready? You ready?

Mike: Uh huh. Just do it already, whoever it is has probably gone by now.

Chris: Unless you want me to take the gun.

Mike: No, no, no. I think that's less good. You do the door, I got the gun.

Chris opens the door and is knocked over when the Stranger kicks the door open.

Chris: Shit! Shit!

Mike: Ah! Ho-hold on there! Hold on there, mister.

Stranger takes the gun off Mike.

Mike: Freeze- Ahh! What the-- Alright, alright, just take it easy grandpa--

Stranger: Ok. Everybody just calm down.

Mike and Chris back away from the Stranger to Sam, Ashley, and possibly Emily.

Stranger: Now just move over there. Go on, move! Let me say what I came to say. I'm here to tell you what you're up against being back on this mountain. You should never have returned. I don't know why you did after what happened last year.

The Stranger drops his bag near the fireplace.

Ashley: You mean with Hannah and Beth?

Chris: Yeeah, how could you know without being involved--

Sam: Or responsible--?!

Stranger: You hold on to your horses. I don't take kindly to you kids coming up here to my mountain--

Mike: Your mountain? I'm sure the Washingtons would be very surprised to hear that.

Stranger: Hehheh. Well, this mountain don't belong to me, it's true. But it don't belong to the Washingtons. This mountain belongs to the Wendigo.

Chris: Who?

Sam: What's he talking about?

Mike: What the hell's a Wendigo?

Sam: Let's hear him out.

Mike: Not like we have a choice.

Stranger: Now I'm only going to tell you this once. It doesn't matter to me if you believe it or not. I got reasons I want to... Get it off my chest...

Mike: See? I told you! He's guilty as shit! Guilty of something!

Sam: Shh. Shut up Mike!

Stranger: There is a curse. That dwells in these mountains. Should any man or woman resort to cannibalism in these woods the spirit of the Wendigo shall be unleashed.

Mike: Oh Crap.

Mike can flashback to Jessica being dragged from the window, shooting the unknown figure, hearing something behind him, the Wendigo appearing in the binoculars, and/or flicking the lighter to reveal the Wendigos eyes peering through the planks.

Stranger: You're going to need to find somewhere safe.

Sam: The basement might be okay...

Stranger: Okay. Get down there, now. All of you. And wait.

Sam: What? Why? For how long?

If Emily is alive:

Emily: Until dawn.

Mike: Guys... I ran off and left Josh when I heard screaming.

Stranger: Where did you leave him?

Mike: In the shed...

Stranger: Your friend will already be dead.

Chris: No... No he can't be... We were just with him!

Stranger: A lot can happen quickly on this mountain.

Chris: No. I'm gonna go get him.

Ashley: You can't go out there, Chris!

Chris: I'm supposed to be his best friend and I let him down.

Ashley: No... he let you down, Chris - he let all of us down.

Chris: I don't care. I'm going to get him.

Stranger: Then I'll go with you.

Chris: I don't need your help.

Stranger: Going alone is suicide.

Chris: Fine.

Stranger: The rest of you - get down to the basement. Be safe. Don't go outside again until we're back.

The Stranger turns to Chris.

Stranger: You don't seem to understand the magnitude of the situation.

Chris: Well I'm going to get Josh, aren't I?

Stranger: No I'm going to get Josh. You're going to help me. Do you understand?

Chris: ... Uh... Yeah... I think so...

Stranger: You need to follow me. And do everything I tell you.

Chris and The Stranger turn towards the kitchen to a hallway to a side exit of the lodge. The Stranger gives Chris a shotgun.

Stranger: This is the end you point towards the thing you want to kill.

Chris: I know how to use a shotgun, man.

Stranger: No, you don't.

Chris: What? How do you know?

Stranger: Trust me. I know.

If Chris chose to shoot Ashley in Chapter 6:

Ashley appears behind Chris and, without a word, Chris and The Stranger go out the door while Ashley closes it, staring coldly at Chris.

If Chris did not shoot Ashley in Chapter 6:

Ashley: Hey..... come back safe.

She then kisses Chris.

Chris: I er.. uh.

Ashley closes the door behind them.

Chris: So... So tell me. You're the expert on these "things." What's... uh... What's a guy gotta know...?

Stranger: You just be careful. You follow my lead.

Chris: So... How many times to I have to shoot it with this shotgun before it's dead?

Stranger: Well you'd be shooting a long time.

Chris: You mean this thing won't even kill it?

Stranger: No... but it'll slow it down.

Chris: Well how do you kill it?

Stranger: They don't like fire.

Chris: I don't like fire-

Stranger: They fear it, and it can kill them if you have to... See their skin is like... it's like tough armor unless you burn it off first.

Chris: That's gross... What are these things like? I mean, are they just crazy unpredictable or can you figure out what they're gonna do?

Stranger: Well... they adhere to some patterns... like any animal... or human.

Chris: Wh- You mean, like how? Like they've got schedules?

Stranger: Well, they only hunt at night.

Chris: Oh. Why?

Stranger: I didn't ask.

Chris: Any, uh, pro Wendigo tips? Like if I rub garlic all over me they won't be able to smell me or something?

Stranger: They'll still smell you.

Chris: Anything like that?

Stranger: They can't see you if you're standing still. It's like toads... sight is based on changes of movement in their field of vision.

Chris: So if I don't move... I'm basically invisible.

Stranger: Yeah, well, I wouldn't recommend testing it out... unless you have no other choice.

Chris: If these things... Wendigos... are or were human do they still have some aspect of humanity in them?

Stranger: Well, they retain certain things.

Chris: I mean, is it really right to kill them? Maybe they can be cured or-

Stranger: They surrender human rights the moment they eat one another. There's no cure. There's no redemption.

Chris: I- I mean if they're still human... I don't know if it's right to hurt them.

Stranger: When you're staring one in the face... it's them, or you. Feel free to take the high route, you won't be on it for long.

Chris: Hydroxide.

The Stranger and Chris arrive at the shed to find Josh's stool empty and broken.

Chris: Oh no... Dammit! What happened? He's gone...! We're too late!

Stranger: Shh! Quiet! We gotta go. Right now.

Chris: We gotta find Josh - he could still be out there!

Stranger: Ha! First, the Wendigo, he'll render you immobile. And then he strips the skin of your entire body, piece by piece. And then he keeps you alive and aware and feasts on your organs, one piece at a time.

Chris: So, the Lodge, then.

Stranger: Let's go now. It might still be near!

The Stranger walks away.

Chris can interact with the stool.

Chris: Oh crap...

(If Chris looks inside the shed:)

Chris can interact with a buzzsaw.

Chris: Forget it.

Chris can interact with Josh's fake body.

Chris: Ah... Jeez.

Chris follows the Stranger outside.

Stranger: Wait!  Don't... move...

Stranger: RUN! GO! NOW! NOW!

Chris: HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK!?!

The Stranger shoots his flamethrower at the Wendigo.

Stranger: BACK! BACK!

Chris: God DAMN-

Stranger: We're right out in the open, we gotta GET OUT OF HERE!

The Wendigo lunges at the Stranger and swipes its hand across his neck.

Chris: Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!

The Stranger's body falls to the ground as his head falls off.

Chris: Oh shit...

The Wendigo lunges at Chris.

If Chris hits the QTE to shoot the Wendigo or the QTE to explode the Stranger's gas tank to ward off the Wendigo:

Chris continues running.

If Chris fails to hit the QTE to duck under the tree trunk.

Chris hits his head on the tree.

Chris: Shit! Ugh!

If Chris successfully shoots the Wendigo:

Chris: Ugh!! Yeah! Suck it!

Chris continues running and jumps off a ledge, but lands hard on his foot.

Chris: ARGH!! Ahh, shit...

If Chris successfully shoots the Wendigo:

Chris: Ohh!

If Chris successfully shoots the Wendigo:

Chris runs to the rear door of the lodge.

Chris: Oh thank God! Please, let me in, quick!

Ashley opens the door and lets Chris in.

Chris: Oh my God!

Ashley: Chris! Oh my God, what happened?!

Chris: We gotta go, that thing was like right behind me-

The Wendigo reaches the door and jumps towards it.

Ashley: Aah!

Chris: Go! Go go go go!

Ashley: Oh god!

If Chris shot Ashley in Chapter 6:

Chris: Ash! Ash, come on this thing is RIGHT BEHIND ME! Please! Let me IN! Ash? Wha-what are you doing?

Ashley flashbacks to when Chris pointed the gun at him in the saw trap and pulled the trigger. She does nothing at the door.

Chris: ASHLEY! ARGH!!!

The Wendigo grabs Chris from behind and pulls his head off, then throws it hard on the ground.

Mike: Ash! CHRIS! Fuck! What the fuck!!

Ashley: ... it was too late...

Mike: We gotta go, like now... Okay? Stay with me, Ash. Come on! stay with me...

Ashley: Okay.

Mike grabs Ashley by the hand to the basement.

If Chris fails to hit any of the targets given to him:

The Wendigo lands on Chris and stabs him in the neck, decapitating him, and tosses his head aside.

If Chris did not shoot Ashley in Chapter 6:

Ashley sees Chris' head as it rolls over to the door.

Ashley: Chris!

Ashley starts to sob.

Ashley: No... stop!

Mike walks towards Ashley.

Mike: Ash! Ash...

Ashley: No... aah!

Mike sees Chris's head.

Mike: Oh my... Oh Jesus Christ... oh my...-

Ashley: Oh my God... Chris...

Mike: Are you okay? Okay, let's go... Let's get down to the basement. Hey! Stay with me... Stay with me, Ash...

If Chris shot Ashley in Chapter 6:

Ashley walks to the door as she sees Chris' head and cries.

Mike: Ash!!! Come on, we gotta get down to the basement. Now!

Ashley: I'm sorry...

Ashley walks away and goes down to the basement.

The Wendigo is shown dragging Josh's unconscious body in the snow.

If Emily is still alive:

If Chris did not shoot Ashley and lives:

Emily: Oh my God! Guys! Thank God!

Sam: What took you so long?

Chris: It's not so good up there right now-

Mike: Understatement of the night.

Sam: Chris, where's the flamethrower guy?
